JUNE 21st - KAT'S Brentwood team beat the North Carolina State Champs during the tournament in Baton Rouge and then lost to the Georgia State Champs after a double over-time (120 minutes of play in the mid-day heat and humity) before losing 5 - 4 on penalty kicks to determine the winner. It is a hard way to lose but that is a lot of pressure on the girls on both teams playing in a pressure cooker in more ways than one. Congratulations to the Brentwood girls on one excellent season.
JUNE 18th - KAT NIGRO'S Brentwood team won their first game of the Regional Tournament in Baton Rouge, Louisiana 6 - 1. Today's game is a another big contest as they all are in Region (Southeast, Texas, and Oklahoma) Tournament play.

KAT'S goal came in double over-time with about five minutes left in the game with FC Alliance of Knoxville in the U-17 league. In the semi-final against Chattanooga KAT scored the winning goal with about 10 minutes left in the game for the 2 - 1 win. In both games KAT was playing mostly defensive mid until very late in the game when her coach pulled her up front. CONGRATULATIONS KAT! Cookeville High School stand-out KELSEY ROBERSON, who trained with us for many years, played a very good game for FC ALLIANCE helping to keep them in the 120 minute game until the very end.
JUNE 7th - HOLLY SMITH will be missed as she leaves for duty with the U.S. NAVY. HOLLY first trained with us when she was in 6th grade. HOLLY played for White County. She graduated in 2008. For the past 8 years HOLLY would call to say hi, every few months, as well as Christmas Eve to say Merry Christmas. HOLLY called a couple of weeks ago and said lets have lunch before I leave, I regret I did not get together with her since in all the years I have known her I never really had a conversation with her in which I got to know her beyond hi and goodbye and soccer. For 8 years she has stayed in touch, HOLLY would always say hi, give me a hug, and then be on her way when we would see each other in the store, or at a restaurant. There is a little tug on the heart to think yesterday she was in 6th grade training with us and now in the military. HOLLY and her smile will be greatly missed. Safe sailing HOLLY, our thoughts and prayers go with you.

MORGAN'S time for a freshmen is outstanding being only 10 seconds from first place in the state in this her first year running track finishing 16th in the state. Congratulations MORGAN on a super, super first year!

Congratulations to the team and coach SAM MATSON for their first ever trip to a state tournament.
MAY 18th - MORGAN VOYLES has qualified for the State Track Meet with a win at the Sectional Meet Tuesday, May 18th. Even though a girl tripped and fell in front of MORGAN, causing her to stop for a moment, she was still able to give it her all to finish in the top four in what was a most impressive finish for this 9th grade girl. CONGRATULATIONS MORGAN - STATE MEET - BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT!
MAY 16 - It was so good to have the opportunity to watch LAUREN ROLLER and JOANNA PAZ play Saturday. Their Lady Cosmos team from Warren County won their first tournament game there in Cookeville Saturday with a 4 - 0 win over a team from Kentucky. LAUREN had a beauty of a goal from about 25 yards out. Her shot was with the outside of the foot. In addition she executed a great 180 right in front of the fans, and us! It was nice! JOANNA played some very good ball as she kept the Kentucky team off the score board having to stop numerous attacks by a team that had some speed up top.
MAY 16th - PATTI JORDAN won the Juggling contest which was held as part of the Crossville grand opening of their soccer complex, a 7 field beautiful complex with lights on all the fields. PATTI beat out not only all the girls but the boys, including college boys with 306 which is excellent.

MAY 11 - KAT NIGRO scored two goals for her BRENTWOOD team to carry them to victory this past weekend in a game that her coach felt was not one of her better games but the fans were in awe of. The better you are the more is expected, good is not flashy, just consistent winning which is as good as it gets for those that see reality.
MAY 11th - BARBARA NIGRO and her Brentwood team continue to do well with BARBARA becoming miss everything for her team with great play after great play.

MAY 11th - The U-14 Fusion lost a tight game 2-1 Saturday which would have put them firmly in the state playoffs. They continue to play good and exciting soccer, no longer a team anyone can take for granted. They still have a shot at the state playoffs come this weekend's result so we hope they prevail as they are one great bunch of girls.
MAY 5th - The U-14 Fusion Travel Team coached by SAM MATSON beat FRANKLIN Tuesday evening 2 - 0. We don't have any details nor did we know about the game (hmmm) or we would have more details. Very proud of the girls. KAT said she saw HANNAH make a great save which was great to hear. BRANDI, MCKENZIE, EMMIE, and ABBY (COLLINS), also play on this team.
MAY 3rd - Congratulations KAT NIGRO. 5,049 juggles which is close to that of the top female soccer player of the century's record. WOW!
APRIL 27th - How do you knock one of the top players in the country out of a tournament game? You knock her out! According to other players on the field the sharp elbow KAT NIGRO got to the back of the head was no accident. She was having a great first half in her first game in Indiana this past weekend, before receiving a slight concussion, which the tournament trainer felt was serious enough to keep her from playing the rest of the tournament since she had short term memory loss to go with the injury. KAT still has slight headaches and nausea four days later so we hope she will recover soon. Time for players and coaches that encourage or fail to stop this type of stuff be prohibited from participating and or coaching.
APRIL 21st - MORGAN VOYLES set a new record for White County High School during the track meet at Tullahoma today in the 400m. The track team also set new records in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays with MORGAN leading the way. Congratulations to this 9th grader as she is having quite the season. We look forward to her training with us this summer but she might be hard to keep up with.
APRIL 21st - LAUREN ROLLER and JOANNA PAZ had some very good games for the Lady Cosmos this past weekend. Every game was a one point game except their last game against a power house team but LAUREN still managed to score against them. Good going girls!
APRIL 21st - We were happy to get this good report - MORGAN VOYLES finished first in the 3200, 1600, and 800 races at Stone Memorial High School. Of the five teams competing White County came in first thanks to MORGAN beating out Cookeville High School by one point.
APRIL 19th - KATHERINE HENDERSON scored three goals and had a great assist to go along with some really outstanding play Monday in Cookeville as her high school Lacrosse Team won another match. She has 29 goals on the year so far which is great considering she was out for 3 games injured. KATHERINE trains with us about 6 months a year. As a matter of fact that is her picture to the left. Everyone knows when she kicks the ball get out of the way!!
